We are asking parents and the community to join us as we march in celebration of the International Day of Peace. We are asking you to wear shirts that are either yellow or black (colors of our No Bully Zone), or that have peace signs on them during the walk. You can also bring a pinwheel or stick one in your front yard to support us during our walk. We are sending home a pinwheel for the students to make with parents at home. You can go to www.pinwheelsforpeace.com for the template. We will be walking the following route that day:
Leave Mary Beck Elementary (818 McDonald St.) and walk up McDonald
Turn right on Princeton Blvd.
Continue straight to Middlebury St.
Turn left on Middlebury St.
Continue straight to Madison St.
Make a left on Madison and continue until Aspenwald Ave.
Turn left on Aspenwald.
Continue straight to Princeton Blvd.
Turn right on Princeton and continue straight to Congress St.
Turn left on Congress St.
We hope that you can join us this day and help cheer our students on. We are all linked together and this is a great way to show that we can make a difference and stand up for peace!

April 2012Thursday, April 12 - Family Safety Night from 5:30 to 6:30pm. Elkhart Fire and Police Departments will be coming to talk to the families) Thursday, April 19th - Kindergarten Round Up at 6:30pm. Please bring your child's birth certificate, shot record and proof of address. We ask that just the incoming Kindergarten students attend with their parents so that it can be a special evening for our incoming Kindergarteners. There will be temporary tattoos, snacks, prize raffle and a chance to see your child's new classroom and meet the teacher! Please be sure to arrive on time. Friday, April 27th - Snow Make-Up Day, School is IN SESSION! Monday, April 30th through Wednesday, May 9th - ISTEP+ TESTING
