12 Days of Giving

Between November 6 and November 21, Elkhart Community Schools is teaming up with Elkhart Education Foundation to celebrate 12 Days of Giving. This event encourages students, staff, and community to cultivate an attitude of gratitude. Last week, students and staff throughout the district spent time to writing notes of gratitude to teachers and staff who’ve made an impact on the lives. EEF will be delivering the notes next week. We’ve even heard that Buster the Bus received a few notes from kindergarten students.

“Our students are impacted by a number of people on a daily basis, whether it’s the cafeteria worker, the custodian, past or present teachers or their bus driver,” said EEF Executive Director Ashley Molyneaux. “We’re trying to teach that culture of attitude that sometimes it’s important to sit down and say ‘thank you’ or let someone know they made an impact on your life because it could really make their day.”

Elkhart Community Schools encourage our community to join in giving thanks to the incredible staff at ECS. Please take a moment this week or next week to tell your favorite teacher, paraprofessional, bus driver, custodian, food service professional, technology support person, or countless other individuals who support and encourage our students, how much they mean to you, your student, and the Elkhart community!

Throughout the 12 Days of Giving, all donations to Elkhart Education Foundation are being matched by an anonymous donor (up to $25,000). The Elkhart Education Foundation directly supports ECS students through innovative teaching and extra-curricular grants. Through the foundation’s work and the generous donations from individuals and businesses, thousands of lives have been positively impacted.

If you’ve considered supporting ECS programs through a donation, the impact of your generosity will be doubled through November 21. If you’ve considered volunteering to help with EEF initiatives like Learning Gardens and Living Libraries, or EEF events like the Ugly Sweater Run or the Kick-Off Classic, volunteers are always needed and appreciated! http://www.elkharteducationfoundation.com/get-in…/volunteer/

Thank you to the Elkhart Education Foundation for all you do for ECS students and staff! #12DaysOfGiving
