Memorial Scholar Gives Up Senior Year to Start College Early  

 


Alexa Sieracki should be looking forward to her senior year at Memorial High School and practicing the volleyball skills that have taken her Charger team to the state finals the past two years.

Central Artists Paint Second Mural in Downtown Elkhart 

 

Downtown Elkhart got a facelift again this summer when Central High School art students painted another mural on a Main Street building.

 

This year’s mural, located near the intersection of Main and Jackson, depicts Elkhart’s Main Street in 1910, complete with a streetcar, bicycles, and old-fashioned streetlamps.  | More

Memorial Grad Has the Write Stuff 


 

John Minichillo, a 1986 Graduate of Memorial High School, has had several of his short stories published in literary magazines over the past decade. His goal now is to see his name on the cover of a book jacket.

Minichillo, an assistant professor of English at Middle Tennessee State University, moved a step closer to his dream when his latest novel was selected as a semi-finalist for the 2009 Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award.  More





Central Hosts First Animae Block Party

The Central High School Anime & Manga Club hosted a community block party on the Elkhart Civic Plaza June 5. The goal of the event was to raise money to expand the Central Library's graphic novel collection and to introduce Michiana to animae, a Japanese art form.
