Career Exploration

At Elkhart High School West, one of the most important objectives is to show students the career opportunities that lie ahead of them. Our Guidance Department can help students explore careers and understand the steps they can take now to help them prepare for future success, whether in college or directly to their career. For some students, this may include a semester-long internship with a local company; for some, it may include years of hands-on skills education through the Elkhart Area Career Center. Some students may want to explore military careers through our Junior ROTC program or participate in the JAG Indiana program that provides guidance on professional workplace expectations. Many Memorial students choose to participate in the Early College Program, which offers the opportunity to earn college credits while still in high school. Our Guidance Department helps students understand their options.
