School Information

The first lines of the Pinewood Elementary School student creed are:

“I will make education my number one priority.
I will be the best that I can be and achieve at my highest level. . . ”

The heart and soul of the student creed permeates Pinewood Elementary School. It is more than just a motivational saying: It is an essential part of the culture of the school.

Dedicated staff and extraordinary volunteers lead the way for children to experience the creed everyday. And when caring adults make education a priority and doing one’s personal best a daily habit, students thrive.

Pinewood is a magnet site for Elkhart Community Schools’ High Ability Program. Here, students who display above-average learning potential are given extra opportunities to shine academically and socially. The presence of these bright children and their involved parents are a key component to success for all in the school.
