Treasurer’s Report-the PAC is obtaining all new ID numbers and a new account is forthcoming

Activities

                9/5  NJHS/Student Council Carwash –parents helped support the efforts…$200 better off

                9/24  PT Conf. Dinner-lots of parents donated chips, salads, cookies, deserts and water.  A thank you note circulated the meeting from the West Side Staff.  Huge thank you to all who donated..as it went well.

                10/3  NJHS/Student Council Garage Sale-parent shoppers helped the group raise $450 which exceeded the $250 goal set last month.  The group would like to do another sale in the spring.  We will get the word out as the date gets closer.

 

Fundraising ideas

                Santa Holiday Catalog Gifts-we tabled the idea until we can have further discussion

                Silent Auction Baskets-There are 42 success classrooms.  We thought we could have each room create a basket to be displayed at the 2nd parent teacher conference time.   Themes can be chosen or assigned, students can donate items for the baskets, baskets can be assembled for display.  The classes that bring in the most money can win a pizza party or some other incentive prize. 

                Restaurant Give Backs-Our first for the year will be at Hacienda on November 1st.  We have looked into a few others like Texas Roadhouse and Fazoli’s.  We are looking for other ideas like Cockadoodle’s Café (forgive my spelling) as a possible site. 

                Chicken BBQ-NJHS/Student Council and PAC will coordinate a BBQ to be held at the next PT conferences on February 4th from 11-6ish.   Parent volunteers will be needed in a couple shifts to allow enough time to meet with the teachers and teachers cannot help because they will be conferencing.  

                 

  Will try to get a parent link on the West Side home page.  Also, the group decided to move the meeting times to the same day as the Principal’s Parent Advisory Council (PPAC).   Our PAC will meet from 5-5:30 on the last Monday of the month, then go right into the PPAC meeting.  Hopefully, we should be home before 7:00pm.  Also, interim meetings may occur before big events…..
