Welcome to Elkhart Community Schools |

Elkhart Community Schools is a district that serves more than
12,500 students in 21 schools including 14 elementary schools, 3 middle schools,
2 high schools, an area career center, and alternative schools for elementary
and secondary students.
ECS takes great pride in its staff and students. Among our many
highlights, the following stand out:
- Rising test scores and graduation rates
- Strong curriculum initiatives including common core standards,
curriculum maps, data teams, a district-wide core reading program, and the 8
Step Process to school improvement
- A high ability program that includes self-contained and
cluster classrooms at the elementary level and more than 35 honors and Advanced
Placement courses at the secondary level
- Excellent art and music programs
- An effective program for English Language Learners
- Student initiatives such as the Olweus Bullying Prevention
Program and Positive Behavior Supports that focus on teaching important life
skills
- Cutting edge technology including computer labs, Smart Boards,
distance learning, and the Power School Parent Portal
- A dedicated, high quality, and caring teaching staff that
understands and appreciates the students that live in this community

Elkhart Community Schools is filled with winners. Our staff and our students are continually being recognized for their outstanding achievement at both the local, state, and national levels.
