Dual Credit Academic Courses

We currently offer one dual-credit course at the EACC, ENGL 111 College Writing.  This course provides a student the opportunity to earn 3 hours of tuition free college credit through Ivy Tech Community College. Credits earned can be transferred to any public college in Indiana and Southwestern Michigan College. The classes meet Tuesdays and Thursdays during the last 50 minutes of your program session for the entire school year. A student may only enroll in one academic course per year.  It’s a great opportunity to meet academic requirements and earn college credits free of charge.

For ENGL 111, prerequisites are a passing score on the sentence skills (80) and reading (76) portions of the Accuplacer Exam. Test scores that can be used in place of the Accuplacer are: PSAT (writing 26, reading 25), SAT: (writing 27, reading 25), and ACT (writing 17, reading 18).  In order to be tested you must sign up for the English course by August 29th.  No exceptions.

In addition, academic support is provided.  For EACC students seeking extra help with their home school math or English classes, our math & literacy specialists are available to help.
