Keep up to date with current news at Eastwood Elementary!
Eastwood’s PTA would like to thank all of our families, students, and staff for a great school year! We would like to extend a special thank you to our Room Parent Liaisons, and all that they’ve done to make this year wonderful!
This is just a reminder that there will be IN SCHOOL INSTRUCTION for ALL in-person students this Friday, May 21st. This is a make-up day for a weather related closing earlier this school year. All virtual students will have instructional time virtually.
Eastwood Parent YouTube Channel Releases More:
We are kicking off a series of 7 videos that highlight our amazing staff by releasing a collection of videos. On Monday, May 10 we released video #2 featuring 4th, 5th, and 6th grade staff. Today, we released video #3 featuring Specials Staff and Specialized Staff. Check them out!
More staff highlights will be released all throughout the month of May, so be sure to subscribe to get notifications and be one of the first to see the videos as they are released. Ms. Miller sent home letters and copies of vaccination records to those students who are missing required vaccinations. If this is your student, there is an upcoming FREE vaccination clinic, where you may get the missing ones. This is ONLY if you were unable to get your student’s vaccinations for THIS school year (2020/2021), OR your student qualifies for next school years’ requirements (current 5th graders who have already turned 11). Please see the flyer coming home today for more information. If you have any questions, please call the office and speak with Ms. Miller.
The office is still accepting book rental payments. Acceptable forms of payment include checks/money orders made out to Book Rental Fund, or cash (please try to have exact change, as the office does not have change). If you have any questions, please call the office, 262-5583.
Quote of the Week:
“You don’t want to look back and know you could’ve done better.”
From the Principal:
Dear Eastwood Families,
Can you believe that we are almost to the finish line for this school year? It really did go by so fast.
The ILEARN testing ends this Friday. Thank you for all the support you gave your children during this long stretch of testing.
The weather continues to refuse to follow the rules for May, so please make sure your child comes to school with a jacket or sweatshirt. Putting your student’s initials on the tag does make it helpful to find the owner, if the sweatshirt is set down.
Also, thank you for all the gifts you sent in for teacher appreciation. It brought smiles to the faces of some very worn out teachers, and was much appreciated!
Please remind your child that we have three more weeks to go and that we still need to keep up the hard work and complete assignments and show up to school on time!
Hopefully the weather will be nice and you can enjoy some time outside this weekend.
