Welcome to Pinewood Elementary

Pinewood is home to one of two centralized High Ability Programs at Elkhart Community Schools. While all schools within the district offer specialized programming for students who perform highly (high ability), students who test at the very highest level are eligible to participate at one of our centralized programs. For all students at Pinewood, academics are taught through guided reading, literacy circles, hands-on science and math, and technology. Student growth is monitored through assessments and data tracking. A wide range of co-curricular offerings enhance learning for Pinewood students: Spell Bowl, Math Bowl, Science Bowl, Happy Day Club, Girls on the Run, Robotics, Sports, Science Fair, Student Service Club, Concerts, Awards, and Study Trips. We look forward to hearing from you and showing you around Pinewood!
